Music professionals are facing a tremendous new challenge : managing contents in a environment where these contents are just a single click away from consumers’ devices.
Furthermore, in each customers entertainment’s world that’s tons of different contents that are stored either in the cloud or hardware.
To help the identification, the tracking and the recommendation of contents, metadata are nowadays capital inputs : both legal (ISRC, ISWC) and uses (tags, similar artists…) metadata are crucial in order to guarantee future incomes and to constitute a new source of marketing analytics for the whole value chain of the music industry.
During this session we’ll scan the subject and identify what is at stake on this matter.
On an operational level, we’ll give some clues on what should be the metadata “to do list” for the next few years.”
